About

Indoor Garden Basics is a Harborlight Press site for true beginners: the right plant for your light, a watering routine you will actually keep, soil and pots that drain properly, and grow lights only when they are truly needed. Most beginner plant deaths come from too much water, too little light, or the wrong pot — not from a lack of talent — and our guides are built around fixing exactly those three things.

We recommend product types and selection criteria first, hype never. When a guide links to a product and you buy through it, we may earn a commission — that is how the site stays free, and it never changes what we recommend first: the simplest setup that works.

Indoor Garden Basics is part of the Harborlight Press family of beginner guides, alongside Vanlife Basics, First Toolkit, and Beginner Barista. Questions or corrections: harborlightpress@gmail.com
